I started out this week by preparing for my research speech. I still remember when I gave my research speech last year in ISM I for my topic of social entrepreneurship. I remember just how nervous I was to get up there and give a 10-minute speech with nothing but a few bullet points on the screen. Since that first research speech, I have come such a long way as I eventually worked my way up to giving an almost 40-minute speech for Final Presentation Night at the end of last year. As I prepared for my research speech this year, I was not as nervous and felt so much more confident about it. Although it was done virtually this year, I was nonetheless excited to present my research thus far. I spent several days creating my presentation and rehearsing through my slides as much as possible. I feel proud of the work I’ve done and cannot wait to give more speeches throughout this year.
I also conducted my third primary research interview this past week with Ms. Sohana Kutub O’Hare, who is the Senior Manager of Corporate Communications at AT&T’s Global Marketing Organization. I had a great discussion with Ms. O’Hare as we spoke about different topics like digital marketing, global marketing, and the agency side of business. I hope to continue conducting a couple more interviews as they are always such a valuable way to gain a unique perspective about the field.
