Diving into Deloitte’s Marketing

It’s been a very productive week in ISM! I’ve continued reaching out to professionals on LinkedIn and was able to conduct my first research interview of the year with Ms. Kimmy Talley last Friday. Ms. Talley is the Marketing and Communications Manager at Deloitte, and through my conversation with her, I was able to receive so much more insight into the field of corporate communications and its relationship to marketing. She first described to me her responsibilities at Deloitte. She has an extremely busy schedule managing various tasks and roles, but her primary focus is in internal marketing where she handles the complex strategic and creative side of marketing campaigns and other marketing content. I learned so much from our discussion; I am so beyond grateful that Ms. Talley took the time to speak with me. In addition to interviewing and building my LinkedIn connections, I also completed my topic proposal. My topic proposal was a great way for me to analyze how and why my interest for marketing and business started along with previous experiences I’ve had in the field. It truly solidified my passion for marketing and allowed me to do a brief self-analysis on the different personal skills necessary to be successful in the field.
