On Thursday, I had the amazing opportunity of interviewing Ms. Mindy Perry, Chief Marketing Officer at Kendra Scott. My conversation with Ms. Perry was absolutely incredible as I received so much insight into Kendra Scott’s inspiring mission and its cause-based initiatives. She discussed her responsibilities as CMO, overseeing many different marketing areas, including her close work with technology and data and her frequent conversations with Kendra Scott’s Chief Financial Officer where they discuss the marketing budget and other critical financial decisions. Ms. Perry placed emphasis on building close relationships with customers and not overlooking the “human” element of marketing. I also completed my original work proposal this week after a few weeks of initial research and brainstorming. I had a lot of ideas circulating through my mind, such as creating a comparative analysis for non-profit v.s. corporate marketing or doing a case study of some sort, but I finally was able to choose an idea that I am very excited to carry out. My proposal is to create a marketing campaign for the non-profit I made over the summer, Project Munay. I will do research, create a strategic plan, and execute my plan by creating marketing content that I will be able to use to boost sales and spread the message about Project Munay.
