My research presentation ended up getting moved to next Tuesday because of the senior pep rally on Friday. Although this was somewhat of an unexpected relief, I knew that I had to work tirelessly over the weekend to prepare my presentation. I had my slides previously prepared, so it was a matter of figuring out exactly what I wanted to say about each of my research assessments and interviews. I ultimately want my presentation to be engaging yet informative to showcase what I have learned about social entrepreneurship this far in ISM. My presentation is tomorrow, and although I am slightly nervous about messing up, I know that I have prepared well. On top of preparing for my presentation, this week I was able to continue my Original Work research by looking at more traditional and non-traditional financing methods entrepreneurs use. I realized that separate from thinking of an innovative idea, entrepreneurs, especially those in the developing world, are faced with the challenge of initially funding a business venture. I was able to research different financing solutions, such as micro financing, seed capital funds, and credit saving unions that I will be able to implement in my Original Work. As I continue connecting with professionals and getting opportunities to conduct research interviews, I hope to increase my knowledge about this topic in order to be successful in my Original Work.
