The Case of Uganda

ree

This past week in ISM was great progress for my Original Work research. Last week, I mainly researched alternative finance methods for entrepreneurs in developing countries and came across different crowdfunding platforms that I can include in my Original Work. This week, I wanted to see if there was any research available regarding entrepreneurial education in lower-income communities. I had to dig very deep in Mackinvia to find articles relating to this topic but was luckily able to find an article titled “Psychological Training for Entrepreneurs to Take Action: Contributing to Poverty Reduction in Developing Countries.” The article explored how psychological training initiatives had proved to be extremely effective in places like Uganda, increasing personal initiative behavior and small-business success. I am curious to know if this method is effective in other countries, specifically Latin American countries, or if Uganda was simply an exception. Along with my Original Work research, I reached out to a few different professionals this week on LinkedIn and via email. Although I have already conducted three primary research interviews, I am still looking to conduct a few more to meet more professionals in my field and learn about my topic. It has been a productive start to the second nine weeks, and I cannot wait to continue my Original Work.
