The week of our ISM Research Showcase was finally here, and I had such a mix of emotions. Although I was so excited to finally be able to showcase all of my research and original work that I was so proud of, I was still nervous because I really had no idea what to expect. What was so crazy to me was the fact that I could almost perfectly remember when my brother had his research showcase almost three back. It was insane to be in that exact same position three short years later. Before Wednesday, I was able to touch up minor things on my board like fixing font sizes and loose letters on my title, but I was for the most part fully ready for showcase night with my portfolio and tri-fold set-up. On the day of the showcase, walking up to Star and overlooking the field with all the boards and tables set up was such a magical feeling. It was everything I expected and more. As I walked around before the showcase officially started, I was so amazed by all the other boards and students’ work from across the district but was especially surprised to see other ISM students who also did social entrepreneurship as their topic. I loved seeing my teachers, friends, and mentor there as I got to discuss my work and research with them. I even got to talk with incoming juniors who were looking to apply to ISM next year! Overall, my experience at the research showcase was so enjoyable and memorable, and I cannot wait for final presentation night where I will be able to do it again.
