Thanksgiving Progress

I conducted my research interview with Ms. Ashley Amerman, Director of Mission Integration at Make-A-Wish, and it was such an incredible opportunity to be able to tour the North Texas headquarter office and learn more about her work and role at Make-A-Wish. One of the biggest things I took away from this interview was the idea that a child’s wish experience is so deeply connected to their physical health. She was able to tell me the stories behind a lot of different pictures of wish children around the office, mentioning their impactful journeys and the correlation between mental and physical health. Although it was Thanksgiving break this past week, I was still hard at work continuing with my Original Work. I made a tremendous amount of progress on it completing the majority of my remaining research on different entrepreneurial education programs, the legal procedures required for establishing a formal business in Nicaragua, ways to obtain capital for starting entrepreneurs, and Nicaragua’s recent economic growth and poverty rates. I also was able to completely finish a lot of pages on the guide and am excited to keep going. Over the break, I was also able to plan out a general board design for showcase night in January, incorporating the color scheme I have been using in my invitation and website.
