Reaching the Finish Line Before the Holidays

Our Original Work was due last Friday, so as you can probably guess this past week was very chaotic and busy. In between finishing my Original Work, I was able to interview Ms. Mary Baldwin, Program Director at the Make-A-Wish Fort Worth location. Ms. Baldwin’s sister recently had a baby, so it was a busy first week back in the office. I was able to ask her questions about her personal responsibilities, what it is like working in the non-profit space, and the importance of donor contributions at Make-A-Wish. When I asked her if she had any advice for me, she told me to always be exploring my career options, even looking at career paths that were unfamiliar to me. She told me to especially look at data analysis as an option for my future. This week, I also added the entrepreneurial education and legal procedures portion of my Original Work guide and worked on adding all of the finishing touches for it. I completed my Original Work Set-Up & Completion Summary and updated my original proposal as well. In between all of this, I missed school on Monday because of a violin competition I attended. So between practicing for my competition, preparing for my interview, and completing my Original Work, I was able to learn the importance of time management and planning ahead.
