Home for the Holidays

These past three weeks have been both fun yet productive. The week before break, I was able to complete my Original Work Assessment and continue updating my digital portfolio with all the latest research assessments and blog posts. I was also able to peer review other ISM students’ Original Works and digital portfolios, and it was so interesting to see the kind of projects and solutions they were able to create. On the Thursday before break, I had the incredible opportunity of interviewing Ms. Amy George, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at the American Heart Association. I truly enjoyed the conversation we had as she is so knowledgeable about the non-profit space and beyond. Over winter break, I took a little time off from assignments and school, spending time with family and friends as my brother came home from college for the holidays. However, since the Research Showcase is fast approaching in mid-January, I began my preparation a few days after Christmas by starting on my display. I bought my board and other decorative supplies from Hobby Lobby, adjusted my initial design plan, and got a lot of work done on actually putting my tri-fold together. I am excited for this new semester in ISM as we prepare for the Research Showcase, go on mentor visits, and start work on our Final Product.
