Getting to Work on My Product

At the beginning of this week, I was able to watch back over my Original Work presentation to give myself my own feedback. Although watching myself present isn’t necessarily my favorite pastime... It was extremely beneficial as I was able to pick up on a lot of things that I unknowingly do when I present. For instance, I have a bad habit of using different fillers, like the word “um”, when I either lose my train of thought for a second or forget what I was going to say. Along with that, I noticed that I tend to constantly look back and forth between the screen and the audience, which is an extremely distracting mannerism. Now that I am aware of these things, I can definitely work on improving them before Final Presentation Night. There were also a lot of positives with my presentation and improvements that I made too. Since my last research presentation, I was able to improve a lot on my word annunciation and timing of my speech. This week I also worked on making final corrections to my Final Product Proposal and was able to start a little on my initial research stage. I kept in mind the advice my mentor, Ms. George, gave me during our last visit and am excited to continue my work on it.
