A “Wish” Come True

After almost two weeks of anticipation, I finally was able to present my ISM research in front of the class. I had done similar presentations my sophomore year in my AP Research class for College Board, so I was in a way familiar with the process. Because I had prepared so much, I was not as nervous going into the presentation but still was scared of forgetting information or messing up in some way. But as I presented, I could feel myself getting more and more comfortable and confident. It was such a great learning experience for me, and I hope to only improve on my presentation skills as the year progresses and the presentations get longer. In terms of my Original Work, this week I wanted to focus more on the entrepreneurial education portion of my guide. The article that I read talked a lot about how entrepreneurship education is not only about developing business knowledge. Although this is important, education is also about mental development in terms of building a sense of ownership, confidence, and self-motivation. This week I was also able to set up another research interview with a professional at Make-A-Wish. My interview with her is tomorrow at the Make-A-Wish North Texas headquarters location in Addison, and I could not be more excited to meet with her.
